The Unit Rural Economy and Sociology of the INRA of Rennes (Department Social sciences, Agriculture and Food, Space and Environment), and the Department Rural Economy and Management of Agrocampus Ouest get closer to establish the Mixed Research Unit Agricultural Structures and Markets, Resources and Territory.

The analysis and the evaluation of the public policies applied to the agriculture, the food-processing industry and the environment are in the heart of the scientific project.

The mainly used approach is the modelling and the elaboration of decision-making tools for and\or in association with the public and private decision-makers.

The activities of researches are structured around two research main trunk roads:

  • Agricultural structures and Environment (ASE) is interested in the structures and in the productivity of farms, in the impact of the public policies on these, in the supply of not trade possessions by the agriculture and in the management of the common natural resources.

  • Regulation of the Agricultural Markets (RAM) is more particularly interested in the agricultural policy, in the international trade of agricultural possessions and in its public regulations, in the exchanges and the relations between country of the North and country of the South, in the functioning of the sectors and in the regulations deprived within these.
The UMR, implanted on the site of Agrocampus Ouest, is established by around thirty researchers and teachers researchers and of about twenty engineers, assistants engineers and technicians, in charge of the accompaniment of the research and the administrative support.
